These guys are the real heros of Mount Kinabalu: the Porters. They get paid about 80 ringit a day(about 28 Australian dollars) to haul everything from bags of rice to cases of water and Heineken up the path to Laban Rata Guesthouse. Although Laban Rata does have a heliport this is the way pretty much everything gets up the mountain.
