We are always keen to mix it with the locals and here we are near Whale Rock with some ladies from Taipei who were also spending the weekend on Penghu. In our hands we have this crazy- but delicious - fruit that is unique to the islands. I think its called youzi. It smells like mango but tastes a lot like cantelope. Penghu is covered in cactus and at this same place we had the pleasure of trying cactus ice-cream. It is beetroot in color and tastes great but you have to keep it away from your clothes or else it will leave a permanent stain.
