The falls are on one side of a beautiful gorge that stretches along the banks of the Nanshih. The inventive Taiwanese have set up a cable car (lan che) that spans the ravine from the town to the top of the falls on the other side of the river. The line has no supporting towers, only a number of super thick wire cables that bear the carriage for its journey. The view from the car was really spectacular.
