It was pretty simple really - thanks to my friend 'Betty Crocker' - but the kids were really into it. I had them all whisking, mixing, pouring and flipping before the afternoon was out. Practically none of them had done any cooking before so it was quite a thrill.
Equally so for the Chinese teachers - most of whom also hadn't spent that much time in the kitchen. They came from all over to try their hand at pouring and flipping - to the polite applause of the kids - which was cool. By mid afternoon, two of the teachers - Wendy and Ann - were practically doyens of the flapjack. They ended up cooking up enough to feed the whole school! (and perhaps Fengyuan too if we hadn't have taken the cooker away).
In the picture is my fabulous Chinese teacher - Teacher Ann - directing Wilson the 'Super Turtle'(he's extremely slow in the mornings!) in the finer points of pikelet ettiquette.
